What is the CrossFit Open?
The CrossFit Open is biggest and second most awesome competition in the world. It's the beginning of the CrossFit Games Qualifier, and the best part is, everyone does it. Yes, everyone. Long before the CF Games air on ESPN, it all starts with qualifying for Regionals via The Open. The best part is, none of us are going to be on ESPN this year competing at the Games, so there is no pressure. We do it for experience, we do it to challenge ourselves, and most importantly, we do it for fun.
There is an Rx'd and Scaled Division, so every member of our gym can compete. Here is a quick glimpse at what it's all about:
In the video, you may heard things like "Muscle Ups", "Pull ups", and other things that scared you. But guess what? There is an Rx'd and a Scaled Division, AND you can even scale it down further if necessary.
If you are nervous and in need of a good excuse, watch this video, you might be able to come up with something good. (watch until the end).
What is the CFLI Open?
The CFLI Open is THE most awesome competition in the world. What's the difference? CrossFit Long Island takes the event of the World Wide Open, injects is with a double-shot of energy, and creates the experience of a lifetime. Last year CFLI took the world by storm by creating the most bad-ass venue on the planet. The "Thunderdome" made waves nation wide and was the cause of great envy for all other CrossFit members from all other affiliates.

There will be one make up slot each week if needed, but if you have to miss a week or two, it's not the end of the world.
