Running and Endurance Clinic

Feb 06, 2012

Time to hit the pavement! (and trails, and the track, and, well, you get it).

Are you interested in challenging yourself to something new? Are you determined to improve on something you may consider a weakness? Are you an experienced runner looking for some challenging workouts, technique tweaking, and a fun atmosphere? Well you've all come to the right place.

Introducing our first CFLI Running and Endurance class!

So, what's it all about?

It's simple. Over the course of March and April, CFLI members and non-CFLI running enthusiasts will be meeting twice a week to work on running technique, running strategy, and hit some good hard workouts.

What will I be learning?

We will be focusing on an introduction to the "Pose" method of running, as well discussing proper nutrition for endurance training, race day strategies and nutrition, proper footwear, and all things related to running. We will also be doing video analysis of your running technique.

What will we be striving for?

Anyone participating in the CFLI R&E class will be highly encouraged to register for one of the races in the Long Island Festival of Races on the weekend of May 5-6th. You have the option of completing a 1 Mile run, a 5K, a 10K, a half marathon (13.1 miles), or even a full marathon (26.2 miles). We ask that you please decided which race you will be attacking as soon as possible so we can program specifically for it.

What type of workouts will we be doing?

Like all things CrossFit, the workouts will vary greatly. The common denominator will be running of course, but we will use all different types of formats including Time Trials (TT), high intensity intervals (HITT), Maximum Effort (ME), Tempo runs, tabata, fartlek, and much more.

When will it meet?

Dates: Saturday March 3rd - Tuesday May 1st (18 sessions)
RACE DAY(S) May 5th-6th
Time: Tuesdays at 6pm, Saturdays at 10am

Where will it meet?

Great question! On Tuesdays we will meet right here at CFLI World Headquarters, but on Saturdays we will meet off premises somewhere. It will change each week and may include parks, beaches, tracks and other similar locations.

What does it cost?

CFLI Gold Members - $135*
CFLI Members - $165*
Non-CFLI Members - $195

*CFLI members can choose to make the payments in 3 separate installments. These installments will be added to your regularly scheduled payment for March, April and May. For example: A Gold member can add $45 to March, $45 to April, and $45 to May

Registration:

Begins Monday February 13th and ends Friday February 24th
