AFAA Certified Personal Fitness Instructor
Brian has been a dedicated and passionate CrossFitter for over 3 years now. As a person whose life has revolved around athletics since early childhood, CrossFit was a classic love-at-first-sight story. Brian dedicated his life to sports from pre-school right through college, where he recently received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. Brian competed in various sports including baseball, football, cross country, and others, but spent most of his life wrestling. His career consisted of 5 years as a starting varsity wrestler for Patchogue Medford High School, earning All-League honors twice in League 1, and Section XI All-County Honors as a senior. Brian went on to wrestle for Cortland State University.
Since beginning CF, Brian has regained his competitive edge and has begun competing for Smith Point in USLA Lifeguarding competitions. This past summer he earned an individual Gold at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship in Beach Flags, and a Gold at the USLA National Championship in the 4 x 100 meter Beach Relay. Brian also competed in the 2009 CrossFit Games Northeast Regional Qualifier, and is training to compete in the 2010 Sectional Qualifier this March.

Chris Costelloe
Co-founder/Trainer
My CrossFit career began about three years ago. Knowing nothing about fitness, I decided to give CrossFit a shot one day. I remember my first workout in a friends backyard that included hang cleans and rope climbs. I don’t remember anything after that- Only that I was instantly hooked, and I knew I had to be a part of CrossFit… so the journey began. Fast forward two years- after helping to open CrossFit Long Island in February 2010 I completed my Level 1 at L’Usine in Montreal and have loved everything about being a trainer ever since. I enjoy seeing people reach new goals and take on new challenges. More recently I have competed in the CrossFit Sectionals/Regional Qualifiers with our Affiliate team and in August 2010 I competed in the USLA National Lifeguard Championship taking fourth in the Landline event with fellow trainer Ian Fogarty. I owe CrossFit everything for giving me the ability to compete at such a high level. When I’m not CrossFitting I attend Stony Brook University. I also like flying, sailing, surfing, skiing, hockey and traveling on the side.

Patrick Scribner
Trainer
Pat fell in love after his first CrossFit workout six months ago. After his first W.O.D. his exact words were “Hell yeah yo! This is awesome!” Shortly after he became a trainer here at CrossFit Long Island. In high school Pat was a varsity Cross Country runner for five years earning a spot as a 3 time all league and one time all division runner. He also competed in track and wrestled throughout his High School career. Pat now attends Suffolk Community College and ran Cross Country there where his first year he was all Region and all-district. Pat is also a member and competitor on the Smith Point Lifeguards Ocean Rescue Team. During the USLA Nationals in 2008 he took 6th in the 2k beach run and 10th in 2009 and 2010. Pat has been surfing since he was 13 years of age and considers it like CrossFit- one of his true passions. Pat thanks CrossFit for everything it has given him and knows that it will be part of his life for many years to come.
